About Me
Irene Karas Loeper is an Actress, Producer, Creator and Podcast Host doing her best to live life to the fullest! She was born and raised in Vancouver, BC and is the daughter of Andrée Karas, Artistic Director Emerita of United Players Theatre Company. As a Professional Actress, Production Manager/Coordinator and Producer with her own company ITQ Productions, Irene is thrilled to call the entertainment business her career. She trained at Circle in the Square in New York City, Gastown Actors Studio in Vancouver, and the Vancouver Film School as a performer. She trained on set as a production crew member starting out as a production PA and worked her way up to becoming one of Vancouver's in demand Production Coordinators. Irene is fortunate to have long term career partners and mentors in the industry. Her incredible acting agent, Elena Kirschner at RED Management Inc., and loyal Producers and Production Managers have kept Irene working in the industry professionally for over 25 years and Irene's just getting started! She was most recently seen theatrically in the world premier musical comedy "Talking Sex on Sunday" playing the role of Sissy. Some of her favourite stage roles include Tanya in "Mamma Mia", Reno Sweeny in "Anything Goes", and Daniela in "In the Heights". Irene has been nominated for multiple theatre awards and received the Best Lead Actress Ovation Award for her performance as Reno Sweeney in "Anything Goes". She has Produced three Short Form Series and was part of teams Nominated for the Leo Awards as Producer and Production Supervisor. She is the Producer and Creator of "The Heritage Project" alongside Moonrider Productions creating beautiful personalized Biography Films celebrating your family history that clients can cherish forever. Irene is in her fourth season as Producer and Podcast Host of her own podcast #ilo_onlocation where she sits down with the amazing women in her life interview style. Irene recently completed the lead role of Deb Wideman in the independent comedy series, "The Dressing Room" and will be seem back on stage next spring in "9 to 5: The Musical" playing the lead role of Violet Newstead with Royal City Musical Theatre! Irene is a full union member of Canadian Actors Equity and UBCP Actra.
